Ruling on ‘Umrah
‘Umrah is obligatory upon the one who is able, once in a lifetime;
based on the saying of Allah SWT:
“And complete the Hajj and ‘Umrah for Allah.”
[Al-Baqarah: 196]
And from the Sunnah:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to ‘Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) when she asked:
“Is there jihad for women?”
He said:
“Yes, upon them is a jihad with no fighting: Hajj and ‘Umrah.”
And he (peace be upon him) said to Abu Razin when he said:
“My father cannot perform Hajj, nor ‘Umrah, nor travel.”
He said:
“Perform Hajj and ‘Umrah on behalf of your father.”
Pillars of ‘Umrah
The pillars of ‘Umrah are three:
Ihram
Tawaf
Sa‘i
