If you are a merchant, be good in buying, selling, and dealing with people. Do not undervalue their belongings or exploit their needs. Be honest and do not cheat in weights and measures, mix expensive goods with cheap ones, or sell inferior goods or those unfit for consumption or use. Do not deceive the naive and exploit their simplicity. Give your neighbors their due and do not harm other merchants. Be kind to your customers and choose your words wisely. Lower your gaze from women. Do not spy on the private matters of Muslims, and do not hoard goods or hide them to increase their price. Hoarding disrupts the balance of supply and demand, ruins the market, raises prices, and puts food in the hands of merchants. The hoarding merchant is selfish and cares only about his profit, even at the expense of others, because his hoarding deprives them of their sustenance, makes their lives difficult, and exploits their needs. Therefore, God has forbidden it and made it a cause of poverty, disease, curses, and expulsion from God's mercy.
