Be sure to honor your parents while they are alive, for honoring them is the most beloved deed to God after prayer. Do not wait until they die, for then you will deeply regret it and lose their care and love. Beware of disobeying them, for it leads to God's wrath, and He will not accept any good deed or compensation from you thereafter. It is a major sin, one of the gravest sins for which God hastens the punishment in this world. The one who is disobedient to his parents is cursed, and God will not look upon him. So do not rebuke them or insult them, do not say "Ugh" to them, and do not disobey them unless they command you to disobey God. Strive to please them, for they are your path to Paradise.
