Bullying… A Wound That Cannot Be Seen
Bullying is not a joke.
It is not just a passing word.
It is not something that is easily forgotten.
Bullying is a hidden wound… that may last for years.
A single word can destroy a person’s self-confidence.
A collective laugh can create pain that is never spoken of.
A moment of mockery may push a victim into isolation… or worse.
Why does bullying happen?
Often because of arrogance, emptiness, inner weakness, or a lack of awareness of God.
What is painful is that the victim may not be at fault at all:
Poor… different… outstanding… or even righteous.
But the truth that must be stated clearly:
Bullying is forbidden… it is injustice… and a sign of bad character.
God says:
“Let not one people ridicule another people…” [Al-Hujurat: 11]
The Prophet said:
“A Muslim is one from whose tongue and hand others are safe.”
“No one who has even a speck of arrogance in their heart will enter Paradise.”
Ask yourself:
Do your words hurt anyone?
Do you laugh at the expense of others?
Do you take part in bullying—even through silence?
And remember:
As you treat others, you will be treated.
Let us raise our children with humility,
with respect for others,
and with the understanding that true strength… lies in holding back harm, not causing it.
Because a kind word…
may save a person.
And a harsh word…
may break them.
